HACCP Training
In order to obtain SQFI certification, it is essential to designate a full-time SQFI practitioner who has successfully completed a HACCP-based training course. This requirement stems from the fact that SQFI certification builds upon the principles of HACCP, emphasising a comprehensive approach to food safety management. The SQFI practitioner plays a crucial role in implementing and maintaining the SQFI system within the organisation.
SQFI Audit
During your SQFI audit, the auditor collects evidence to confirm that your company and employees are adhering to your management plan. This rigorous process entails a variety of investigative techniques, such as conducting interviews with your management team, analysing your systems, and engaging in discussions with non-management staff to evaluate their understanding of relevant policies and procedures.”
Certification
Once the auditor is satisfied with your systems, you have officially passed the SQFI certification.

Unlike ISO certifications there are no surveillance or recertification audits. Your SQFI certification will last for one year and if you wish to renew it, you will be required to undertake another SQFI audit.
